Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state early analysis show the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are currently not aware of any harm in association with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the community for details.
A high-ranking representative stated the vandalism made him stunned and required to be addressed quickly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
